I have been interested in photography for most of my life. The way someone can capture an emotion, or invoke an emotion in the viewer has always fascinated me. When I was a kid I loved looking through all the National Geographic magazines my parents had as well as the seemingly endless stacks at school.
I took a lot of pictures over the years never really believing that I could take pictures that people would like to look at and/or hang in their homes and offices. I used my phone camera or simple point and shoot cameras, but nothing more than that.
About 3 years ago, my wonderful wife (girlfriend at the time), bought me my first Canon DSLR. I literally spent thousands of hours reading, watching YouTube videos on how to use the camera, how to compose a shot, and how to edit photos in Lightroom and Photoshop. On top of that, I proceeded to take countless photographs trying to perfect the skills I was trying so hard to learn.
It wasn't until I came across Thomas Heaton, Gavin Hoey, YuriFineart, that I really started to be able to throw off the shackles known as the "rules" and start shooting, experimenting and having fun! All the technical stuff definitely helped, but the creative and exciting part came with experimentation.
I like to shoot outdoors. Landscapes, cityscapes, architecture, and nature. I love being outside with my gear looking for different compositions and chasing light. I hope you enjoy what you see here!
